HillsongsIn the collective expression of a unified church, as the people worship their magnificent Savior, a beautiful exchange happens: the exchange of the cross for sins, the exchange of His life for our freedom. This beautiful exchange is the gospel of Christ and it happens in churches and street corners around the globe. It is the message that lies at the center of Hillsong Church, and it is the meaning behind the new Hillsong LIVE project, A Beautiful Exchange.

The 20th Hillsong LIVE recording, A Beautiful Exchange, captures again the heart and soul of what God is doing locally in the Sydney, Australia church. Hillsong worship leaders Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Darlene Zschech, Jad Gillies and Ben Fielding, among others, came together with the entire church congregation through the expression of worship to celebrate and seek God.

Is it Dynamic Worship or Manipulation?

worship3Sometimes out of our innocence, and other times out of our naiveté, the church fails to exercise her God-given abilities of discernment, and ends up labeling things as “God,” just because they may be numerically or financially successful. Neither Jesus nor Paul would be “successes” under that measuring stick.

The Threshing Floor of Worship

RUTHThis past Sunday I had a vision during a time of intense prayer and worship. I saw this person who was worshipping the Lord. Out of nowhere came this rubber-like substance that covered this person and began to try and smother this person. This person couldn't breathe and was panicking. Then the Lord blew His breathe on this “thing,” and it turned to glass. The Lord handed this person a rod, and He said, "BREAK IT!!!" He said, "I've given you the authority, so BREAK IT!!!" This person took the rod and drew it back and burst this 'thing' into a million pieces. Then there was no longer any space between this person and the Lord. This “thing” that had tried to smother and take out the person was broken and this person entered into the glory of God; His presence was felt like never before.

prepared_GodThe last, great move of the Holy Spirit will be distinguished by men and women who have been prepared by God for God.

We have given ourselves in prayer for revival; we have studied and discovered the Lord's heart for the lost. Without compromising the gospel's basic truths, grace has taught us to make Christ's message relative to our times and needs. For all our preparation, though, we have yet to prepare our hearts for God Himself.

The apostle Paul's letter to the Philippians is one of the Bible's most unique books. Some scholars call it "the epistle of joy" because the word "joy" or "rejoice" appear in it 16 times. Yet what is amazing is that this letter about Christian joy was written from a prison cell!
